iFIT Collaboration Botswana
iFIT Prosthetics recently completed their second mission in Botswana persons with lower limb loss were fit with immediate fit, adjustable prostheses.  Using only hand and power tools and the devices he brought with him, Dr. Timothy Dillingham and his team have successfully fit 33 persons over the course of two trips.  The majority were fit in rural clinics where patients were fit with the prosthesis, given gait training and able to walk out with a fully functional prosthesis.

iFIT is not only an industry leader in advanced adjustable prostheses, but also have the optimal devices for meeting world-wide prosthetic needs.  The press release from the first trip in 2021 was featured in the Botswana Daily News. You can read this

This man lost his limb several months ago and was waiting for a prosthesis.  He was fit and able to walk out the same day with the latest version of the TT adjustable prosthesis with advanced closure system.

Botswana Trip 2021

This man lost his limb to trauma 20 years prior. The conventional device he was wearing was very uncomfortable.  The iFIT prosthetic was modified to fit his smaller limb and provided a comfortable fit with safe and stable gait.

iFIT Small BK Prosthesis

This woman lost her limb to trauma 14 years prior.  She remarked that the iFIT socket was comfortable and not heavy. She was able to be fit outdoors and walked proficiently in under two hours.

This man lost his limb a year prior.  He previously needed to walk with crutches with his conventional prosthetic, and also had pain and skin breakdown.  He reported no pain with the iFIT and so far no skin breakdown.

This woman loved the iFIT blue device, "I wouldn't change a thing.  It is just amazing and cosmetically fine!"

This person's BK amputation and knee flexion contracture were accommodated with an iFIT AK prosthesis with a cut out.  He had not walked with a prosthesis since his amputation 5 years prior.  Now he is able to get around on two limbs once again.
This bilateral patient lost him limbs four years ago. He loves the comfort and stability the iFIT system has brought him. Here he is up and walking immediately after his fitting.
